A 38-year old farmer has allegedly committed suicide by drinking weedicide.
Kwasi Anim, who lives at Krobo-Kaase, a farming community in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region, according to residents, took the poison on the day his friend was buried.
Information gathered indicates that the deceased took in gramaxone weedicide on March 13, 2019.
Anim was rushed to Nsawam Government Hospital for medical treatment and was discharged the following day, however, his condition deteriorated after two days and he was rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital where he died on Monday, Starr FM reports.
It is not clear if his best friend’s death is the reason why he committed suicide or there is a different reason for the action he took.
Anim left behind a wife and four children.
