The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has warned the general public on the increase of expired products on the market this Christmas.
The FDA wants the public to be aware so as to avoid buying such products to consume during the festive season.
Speaking to Angel FM in Kumasi, Ebenezer Kofi Essel, the Head of Food Industrial Support Services Department said they are advising people to be careful because they do not know why people do that.
He cautioned those who buy food while in traffic as such products might not be good to consume.
He added that some people change the package of the expired products and sell them during this time of the year as they do people are willing to buy anything.
He advised people to read about a product before purchasing them.
“We arrest people” who sell such products but “we have to advice the people”, he explained.
