Former Deputy Ashanti Regional NDC Chairman, Alhaji Sani has lashed out at Ashanti Regional Deputy NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, calling him “a nobody”.
Alhaji Sani in an interview monitored by The Post said Wontumi would have lost the election if Asare Bediako had not pulled out of the race.
“Who is Wontumi?”
“I told you Nana Addo will sack Asare Bediako.”
“Didn’t Asare Bediako withdraw at the end of the day?” he asked.
Chairman Wontumi after the NDC regional elections came out to say he influence the NDC’s election.
According to him, he did not want Joseph Yamin to win as he would have challenged him.
Alhaji Sani went on to say that the NDC is going to unite and back the new leaders as they are going to win the upcoming elections.
Also, on Yamin’s defeat, he indicated Yamin lost the election because he is not an Asante.
“They did the same thing to me.”
“I was born and bred in Ash Town.”
“I worked hard to bring Atta Mills to power, however, because I am not an Asante, they voted against him.”
“The regional Chief Imam has advised me not to talk about it. If it was not that I would have said a lot of things.”
After the NDC regional elections, the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia also spoke against the rate of tribalism in the party.
