Achi made the apology on Kessben FM and also explained the reason for saying that.
He said that ‘right after the interview’ a very good friend of his at Manhyia called and told him that although he talked well, he should not have called Kotoko ‘greedy’.
However, he explained that Kotoko’s George Amoako made a request for Richard Dodji on Monday and he asked him to write to them so that it will official. Later in the day, he was given the letter and took it to Champion’s house so that they can start the process.
When he opened the letter, he saw that they were requesting for three players after they had already agreed to sell Dodji to them.
According to him, the brouhaha started after Champion granted an interview on Fox FM and said he would sell Dodji for $1, 000, 000, Shafiu for $500, 000 and Akamenko for $500, 000. These price tags, he explained were for teams outside Africa that would approach Ashanti Gold for those players but not Kotoko.
Achi also said that George Amoako apologized to him for requesting for three players after they had agreed on one player.
