Ganiyu to be named Kotoko captain

Asante Kotoko, according to reports will name Ismail Abdul Ganiyu as the new captain.

The defender is in negotiation with the club for a contract renewal and per reports reaching The Post, Ganiyu is likely to renew the contract.

According to the report, Kotoko is likely to give the player at least GH₵ 10,000 a month and the captain arm band as part of the new contract.

Last season, Ganiyu was the third captain after Felix Annan and Emmanuel Gyamfi who were the main and deputy captains respectively.

However, after Annan terminated his contract and reports of Gyamfi’s imminent departure, Ganiyu will be the only captain left at the club for the upcoming season.
