Members of Ghana Liquefied Gas Operators Association across the country this morning refused to sell gas to their customers due to the government’s Cylinder Recirculation Module.
Under this policy, government will have depots where gas and cylinders will be sold.
The module, according to reports will be divided into two; namely, high risk and low risk.
High risk areas will be made to sell only cylinders while low risk areas will be made to sell the gas.
This new policy, according to the government will curb the infernos at gas stations that sometime ago became rampant and also create employment.
The module according to the gas sellers will affect their business as they will not be made to sell the gas anymore.
Also, Ghanaians who sell cylinders will not be permitted to sell them any longer.
They feel the government want to drive them out of the system.
According to the gas sellers, the previous government started the program but listened to their plea and decided to reform it.
Meanwhile, the gas sellers feel the current government did not take their recommendation into consideration when making the policy and also blames the NPA boss for the ongoing misunderstanding between them.
Until they come to an understanding with the government, they are not going to sell gas.
