The Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced new uniforms which will be worn by Junior High School (JHS) students.
The new uniform which is totally different from the popular yellow khaki shirt and brown short shorts will be worn by the JHS when the 2019-2020 academic year starts later this year.
The announcement was made by the Director-General of the GES, Prof Kwasi Opoku Amankwa at a press conference in Accra on Thursday morning.
Parents and guardians whose wards will be in JHS will pay for the new uniforms.
After the announcement was made, some Ghanaians took to social media to criticise the GES for failing to attend to pressing matters and focusing on school uniforms.
Whilst teachers are writing exams questions on the chalkboard for pupils, they have rather sought to introduce school uniforms.
See this Ghana Education Service ooo What at all are they doing with our education
