The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) have written a proposal to the government of Ghana to support the clubs in Ghana as the club owners are struggling to pay their players due to the suspension of the league.
According to the report, GFA and GHALCA want the government to pay the salary of the players of the various clubs for the next three months.
GFA and GHALCA in their proposal asked the government to give each player and the technical team in the premier league ₵1000, ₵700 for division one players and ₵500 for the women’s league players.
While some players take more than ₵1000 a month, The Post understands the clubs would pay the rest of the salary of such players should the government agree to it.
At the moment, there are 18 teams in the Premier League, 48 teams in the Division One and 8 teams in the Women’s League. The Post understands each club has 30 players on its payroll.
The GFA and GHALCA, according to the report, want the government to give them the money as a loan or give it for the clubs for free.
