The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken a significant step towards rejuvenating the Juvenile Leagues nationwide by approving $100,000 in funding through FIFA Forward. This financial support aims to facilitate the acquisition of footballs for Juvenile/Colts Clubs.
As part of a broader strategy to strengthen the Juvenile Leagues, the GFA’s Executive Council has endorsed various policies. The $100,000 allocation for football purchases is one of the key interventions aimed at supporting the Regional Football Associations in organizing Juvenile Leagues throughout the country.
The announcement was made by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku during the 29th ordinary session of the GFA Congress, held at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on Monday, July 10, 2023. President Simeon-Okraku emphasized the importance of this initiative in enhancing grassroots football development.
Additionally, President Simeon-Okraku discussed the GFA’s collaboration with the Juvenile League sponsor, KGL Foundation, and highlighted the introduction of the National Juvenile Awards. These awards aim to recognize and honor outstanding performers within the Juvenile Leagues, further motivating and inspiring young talents in Ghana’s football landscape.
