Joe Debrah is considered one of the best dribblers to have ever graced the Ghana Premier League. He had an illustrious career during his 8-year stint at Asante Kotoko, where he was known for his incredible dribbling and attacking abilities.
His playing style drew comparisons to Shamo Quaye, a legendary player for Accra Hearts of Oak, sparking debates among fans about who was the better player. Both Debrah and Shamo Quaye were pivotal in the 1990s, lighting up the Ghana Premier League with their outstanding skills.
In a 2020 interview, Joe Debrah stated that he believed he was a better player than Shamo Quaye. He highlighted his diverse skill set, including strength and striking abilities, and emphasized his involvement in the game beyond goal-scoring. His passing is a significant loss to the Ghanaian football community.
