The Black Stars of Ghana has qualified for the 2023 AFCON in the Ivory Coast after beating the Central African Republic 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Blacks went down in the 25th minute through Louis Mofouta’s goal. Mohammed Kudus equalised for the home side in the 44th minute.
In the 88th minute, subsitutes Antoine Semenyo assisted Ernest Nuamah to give Ghana the lead.
The Les Fauves, in the first half, gave the Black Stars a tough time as a win would have seen them make it to the AFCON for the first time.
Unfortunately for them, Ghana fought back and dominated the second half after Black Stars’ coach Chris Hughton brought on Nuamah, Semenyo and Gideon Mensah.
Kudus, who was Ghana’s best player on the pitch dominated the midfield and scored even scored another goal but was ruled offside.
The win means that Ghana has qualified from the group with Angola.
