Ghana is yet to lose a game Thomas Teye Partey has started with the captain’s armband on his arm.
Before the first leg of the World Cup qualifying game against Nigeria in Kumasi last Friday, Partey had also scored in every game he had started as the captain of the side.
While Ghana was rated as the underdog in the World Cup playoff against the Super Eagles and were tipped to concede goals especially in Abuja for the second leg, some Ghanaians believe that as long as Partey is the captain of the side they will not lose the playoff.

Partey captained the Black Stars for the two legged game after Andrew Ayew was shown the red card in Ghana’s game against Comoros in the African Cup of Nations in January which Ghana lost 3-2.
Though Partey failed to score in the first leg of the game it was his goal that sent the Black Stars to the World Cup on away goal rule as the game ended 1-1.
In all, Partey has started as the captain for the Black Stars in six games and has scored in five of them.
