In Pennsylvania, USA, a tragic incident unfolded when a 46-year-old Ghanaian man was apprehended by the Berks County police for the alleged murder of his 32-year-old partner. The accused, Boakye Harrison, was arrested on July 7, 2023, following a distress call to the Fleetwood Police Department regarding a domestic violence incident at Middletown Road.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered an unresponsive woman identified as Winifred Boakye, aged 33. Despite their efforts to save her life, she tragically succumbed to her injuries. Local News 21 reported that a subsequent investigation conducted by the authorities indicated that Harrison Boakye and Winifred had engaged in a physical altercation within the confines of their home’s bathroom.
A thorough autopsy conducted on Winifred Boakye confirmed that her death resulted from “manual strangulation,” painting a grim picture of the horrific events that transpired. Harrison Boakye was promptly taken into police custody following his arrest, and on July 12, 2023, he was formally charged with first-degree murder, third-degree murder, and additional offenses. Currently, he remains incarcerated in a Berks County Jail as legal proceedings take place.
