Yesterday, Ghanaians took to social media to express their displeasure after the foreign media recognised Portugal’s Ronaldo as the first player in football history to score in 8 international major tournaments.
According to the foreign media, Ronaldo set the record after scoring in the 2006 World Cup, 2008 Euros, 2010 World Cup, 2012 Euros, 2014 World Cup, 2016 Euros and the 2018 World Cup.
However, Asamoah Gyan scored in the 2006 World Cup, 2008 AFCON, 2010 AFCON, 2010 World Cup, 2012 AFCON, 2013 AFCON, 2014 World Cup, 2015 AFCON and the 2017 AFCON.
Asamoah Gyan tweeted ‘People disregard my achievements in the World Cup history but I want the whole world to know I have not been given the fair shake but records will remain forever’
