Ghanaians react to Mahama’s absence from the Independence parade

Former President Mahama’s absence from the Independence parade at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi has got some Ghanaians asking questions.

The former president has been to all the celebrations since he left office in January 2017 just like all the other former presidents.

Even though former president Jerry John Rawlings was also missing at the event, Mahama’s absence raised eyebrows especially when he will be contesting in this year’s election. Later, it was made known that Rawlings marked the day at Sogakope.

Some Ghanaians on social media criticized the former president for missing the event while others believe he made the best decision especially when the event was organized in the ruling party’s stronghold.
