Yesterday, a 17 year old student died while in school at Adobewura Senior High School.
The deceased, Janet Owusua, a first year student of the school at Atwima Mponua District in the Ashanti region according to initial reports died after her mother rebuked her for getting pregnant.
The initial reports indicated that the girl after the rebuke took her father’s weedicide and drunk it when she got to school.
Upon further investigations, it has been revealed that the late Janet Owusua, who was a General Arts students before her demise had been taken to hospital for about 3 weeks by her father.
Her father, Mr. Owusu Mohammed who is a farmer, according to reports had no idea his daughter was pregnant.
Although we do not know exactly what caused the death of the teenager, her father believes it was not the weedicide that killed her as her got better after he took her to the hospital.
Her supposed lover is now in police custody to assist the police in further investigations.
