Assembly Members at Twifo Heman District in the Central Region have asked the government to appoint a new DCE for them after they were officially told their DCE is suffering from a stroke.
According to the Assembly Members, they got the information last year but they told them about it last month.
The situation they said has affected the development in the area.
Also, due to the DCE’s current situation, some members of the Assembly have taken advantage of the situation to award contracts to themselves.
One Assemblyman said the contracts they have bloated the amounts in the contracts as they have indicated they have built a public toilet in his area, but he is yet to see the said toilet facility.
The Assembly members have also adviced the DCE to leave office and seek medical attention as his health is more important than the office he is holding.
