Ghana National Petroleum Corporation today cut the sod for the construction of a hostel for Duayaw Nkwanta Physiotherapy Training College now St. John of God College of Health.
St. John of God College of Health is the only school in English-speaking West African country that teach Physiotherapy at the diploma level.
Next year, Orthopedic Technician program will be introduced in the school and as a result, the school authorities were ‘worried’ about accommodation for the incoming students.
The authorities of the school indicated GET Fund has not finished a hostel they are building for the school so they wrote a proposal to GNPC and they have come to their aid.
GNPC is noted for investing in sports and have recently embarked on building artificial football pitches across the country.
Speaking to journalists, Dr Baah Nuako, the CEO for GNPC said they came to the aid of the school after they got the request.
He stated that he has a lot of request on his desk but they attended to those that are urgent.
The hostel will house 80 students when completed.
