The Policy Analyst of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr Amo “Energy” Sarpong has described the Golden City Park at Berekum as “a very dangerous” ground for any football loving fan.
According to reports, Energy was attacked by supporters of Berekum Chelsea before the game commenced after he gave warning shots.
Photos of Amo Sarpong and another supporter of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who had blood oozing from their head went viral after the attack.
According to the reports, the unfortunate event happened after a disagreement between fans of the two clubs outside the stadium.
Energy and the other injured Kotoko supporter were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Earlier today, Energy took to this Twitter page to call on the government to do something about the things that happen at Golden City Park “before the worst happens.”
Thank God for showing me mercy and granting me favour today… The Golden City Park of Berekum is a very dangerous grounds for any football loving fun… I call on the Government to do something about this hell of a venue before the worst happens. @AsanteKotoko_SC @EdmundAckah
