The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, on his tour in the Ashanti region has indicated the government, this year, will not increase the money Muslims pay for the Hajj.
Unlike the previous years where the amount Muslims pay for the pilgrimage keep increasing year after year, Dr Bawumia has promised the amount will not be increased.
Dr Bawumia, during his visit to Offinso, said, ‘the GHC 15, 000 we paid for last year’s Hajj will be the same as this year. Insha Allah’.
Furthermore, the Vice President expressed his joy about the steps the government is taking to reduce unemployment in the country.
‘We want our children to get jobs. Nowadays our children after completing school stay home for 4, 5 years without getting a job. That is why have we have brought the Nation Builder’s Corp to employ 100, 000 people’.
The Vice President also promised the Muslim community at Offinso that he will help build an Islamic Senior High School for them.
He encouraged those who were at the gathering to pray for the President, Nana Addo and also for the country.
