The Ghana Revenue Authority has warned retailers not to sell products without tax stamps.
The tax stamps according to the GRA will help know products that have been approved to be sold on the market.
Products such as Coca cola, beer, bottled water and other drinks are to get the tax stamps. Last week, GRA officials were at the Kumasi City Mall, Ababio Express and other shopping centres in the Kumasi Metropolis to see if their products have the tax stamps.
The team after their rounds told the owners of shops who did not have the tax stamps to work on getting them or else they will be charged the next time they come around.
The policy according to the GRA is to help tax products as it has always been difficult to tax such products.
The GRA has insisted that the policy is not a new one but rather they have improved the means of taxing products before they get to the market.
The stamp according to the GRA will also indicate whether the product has been taxed or not.
