“For whatever reason, not all people are born with the particular gift of being able to express ourselves through music. And, believe me, it is a gift.” – Billy Joel
And it is this gift that has given Paa Kofi, the inspiration to write a song about taking responsibilities for our actions.
Paa Kofi aka Legend started rapping before he became a teenager.
“At a very tender age, let’s say 16 years ago because if I remember correctly I was in class 4 when the love to do sing along and record on tape recorder started’, he said.
The 25-year-old rapper who does not restrict himself when it comes to listening to music looks up the Jesus Walks hitmaker, Kanye West and FOKN BOI’s Mensa; and they are his favourite rappers too.
After completing Kumasi Academy in 2012, Paa Kofi placed his dream to pursue music on hold to get a degree and in 2016, he graduated with a degree in Political Science from the University of Ghana.
With a couple of mixtapes already out, Legend, last year released his first single titled “Tsakemo”. ‘Tsakemo,’ a Ga word which means Change, talks about taking responsibility for the outcome of one’s actions instead of blaming the government or Satan for anything bad that happens to us neglecting our role in it.
