The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the swearing in of the new Governing Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology indicated that the alumni of Katanga and Conti have apologized to him for ‘rushing’ to the court when the school decided to turn the male halls into mixed halls.
The decision by the alumni to take the matter to the court, he said prevents anyone including the Chancellor from solving the issue. This, the Asantehene said, the alumni apologized for not petitioning him first and taking the matter to court before informing him about their worry.
The alumni of the University Hall and Unity sued the Vice Chancellor after the school decided to turn their halls into a mixed hall.
They later petitioned the Chancellor of the school, Otumfuo to intervene as the Vice Chancellor’s decision is against the rules of the school.
The alumni, however, lost the case as the court ruled in favour of the school.
