After Accra Hearts of Oak announced that Joseph Esso and four other players will be leaving the club as their contracts have ended, reports have emerged that Kotoko had a hand in Esso’s departure from the club.
According to the report, Hearts of Oak while negotiating with Esso called Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu and told him to stop talking to the player as he has a contract with them.
After Esso’s departure, the club and some of the fans are saying the decision by the player to leave the club is because Kotoko’s National Circles Council leader, Christopher Damenya and coach Maxwell Konadu told the player to leave the club.
According to the report, the two convinced Esso to leave the club so that they can sign him for Kotoko.
Esso’s departure has hurt the fans of Hearts and they have reportedly agreed to meet the player and convince him to sign a new contract.
