Hearts of Oak have announced the appointment of former Asante Kotoko coach, Aboubakar Ouattara as their new head coach, effective immediately. The decision, revealed on Friday, February 9, marks a significant shift in leadership for the club.
In an official statement released by Hearts of Oak, it was disclosed that the Ivorian has inked a two-and-a-half-year deal with the team. He is slated to commence training sessions with the players following the club’s friendly match against Techiman Eleven Wonders over the weekend.
“The Board of Accra Hearts of Oak have appointed Ivorian coach Aboubakar Ouattara as the club’s substantive head coach. His appointment takes immediate effect,” the statement from Hearts of Oak affirmed.
Coach Ouattara’s arrival comes as a replacement for Martin Koopman, who was relieved of his duties during the early stages of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
Bringing with him a CAF License ‘A’ coaching certificate, Coach Aboubakar Ouattara boasts a wealth of experience, having tasted success in various African nations both as a coach and Technical Director.
The Hearts of Oak board has expressed confidence in Coach Ouattara’s capabilities to steer the team towards success, signaling a fresh era for the club under his stewardship.
