Some fans of Accra Hearts of Oak are accusing referee Mashood Ssali of robbing Kariobangi Sharks in their game against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Saturday.
According to the fans of Hearts of Oak, referee Ssali deliberately awarded a penalty to Asante Kotoko to help them win the game.
Kotoko was given the penalty after Sogne Yacouba was brought down in the 38th minute and captain Amos Frimpong made sure he put the ball at the back of the net.
The Phobians who went to the stadium to support Kariobangi Sharks after the game expressed their anger as some even called radio stations to lash out at the referee.
The win gave the Porcupine Warriors their ticket to the next stage as they drew with the Sharks in Kenya.
Kotoko scored the first goal in the 17th minute after Fatawu took the ball from Lomo. Fatawu who did not play the first game in Kenya proved to the coach why he was right to let him start the second leg.
Patila Omoto equalized for the Sharks with a long-range shot in the 29th minute to silence the home fans.
However, Frimpong’s goal changed things but the fans had their fingers crossed until the referee ended the game.
