The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is currently searching for a new coach for the national team, following the group-stage exit at the Qatar 2022 World Cup and the resignation of Otto Addo from the position.
According to reports, one of the contenders for the job is Slavko Matic, a coach currently working with Hearts in the Ghana Premier League. He joined the club last October and has led the team to fourth place in the league. However, Matic has reportedly made a move for the national team job without informing the club’s board.
The GFA has received over 60 applications for the position, with most coming from Europe and South America.
Among the applicants is James Kwasi Appiah, who has previously coached the national team and is looking forward to a third stint with the team. Other notable names in the running include Chris Hughton, George Boateng, and Hector Cuper.
