The official supporters’ group of Accra Hearts of Oak, the National Chapters Committee (NCC) wants Kumasi Asante Kotoko former player and coach, Maxwell Konadu to become their new head coach.
There have been reports in the media that the current coach of Hearts, Kim Grant does not have the required certificate to be at the dugout of the club.
Per the new rules of the upcoming Ghanaian Premier League, a coach must have CAF License A certificate or its equivalent before one can coach a Premier League club in Ghana and Kim Grant, according to the reports in the media, does not have that certificate yet.
Last Saturday, the leaders of the NCC met and discussed the way forward for their club and Maxwell Konadu has been recommended by the NCC to replace Grant.
Konadu coached Kotoko during the 2011-2012 season and won the club’s 22nd league title. He resigned was appointed as the Assistant coach of the Ghana national team.
After the sacking of Kjetil Zachariassen from Kotoko, Konadu has been linked with a return to the club where he gained his name as a prolific goal scorer in the early 90s, however, according to reports, Kotoko has not contacted him as the club wants to bring in a foreigner to sit at the club’s dugout.
