Hearts struggling to renew Barnieh’s contract as Basel shows interest

Accra Hearts of Oak forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh is likely to leave the club as a free agent as the club is finding it difficult to renew his contract.

According to the report, the AFCON U20 winner’s contract will end in December this year and he is currently not willing to renew the contract.

Barnieh has received offers from clubs in Europe and according to a report, Swiss club FC Basel are interested in securing his signature.

Per the report, the club has contacted Afriyie’s manager and this has made it difficult for Hearts to convince Barnieh to sign a new deal.

There were reports that Barnieh would sign a one-year deal before the start of the World Cup, however, the move could not be finalized.
