The players of Accra Hearts of Oak, according to report, will have a 40% pay cut starting from April.
According to the report, the captain of the club, Fatawu has been informed of the decision by the management and he has relayed the information to his teammates.
According to Kessben FM’s Atta Poku, Fatawu sent this message to the players: “Greetings brethren, hope everybody is doing great? Guys I had a call from the management about pay-cut and what they said was they want to cut off 40% of our April pay. So guys what do you think about it. Please kindly let me know your suggestion so I will know what to tell them. Please talk fast I need to get back to them right away. They are on me. “
However, the management of the club has denied taking that decision, adding, they will do it professionally if they decide to do that.
According to the report, some of the lowest-paid players of the club receive between ₵400 and ₵500.
The club is following in the footsteps of their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko who has also told the players they will reduce their salary by 40%.
