How CAF’s Dopping Officer lost his life after Nigeria vs Ghana game – report

Zambian doctor, Dr Joseph Kabungo died last night after Ghana eliminated Nigeria from the FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the MKO Abiola Sports Stadium in Abuja.

According to the initial report, the CAF Dopping Officer died after collapsing at the stadium, however, Ghanaian journalist Collins Atta Poku who witnessed the sad incident has in a tweet revealed what led to the doctor’s death.

According to him, Dr Kabungo was beaten by the Nigerian fans before he became unconscious.

“They beat him, he fell and they throdded on him. He lost consciousness and was rushed to an ambulance closer to the Ghana dressing for CPR. The entire Ghana contingent watched on as resuscitation attempts were made with oxygen masks. He was taken to hospital now this. Sad.” He tweeted.

The family of the late physician have been informed of his death.

CAF and the Nigeria Football Federation are yet to comment on the cause of death of the Zambian doctor.
