Captain of the Ghana National team, Asamoah Gyan has once again made it clear he wants to play for Kotoko.
The former Udinese striker told the media in Kumasi yesterday that he is a big fan of the 23-times Ghana Premier League Champions and that it is his dream to play for the club before he retires.
“I am a big fan of Kotoko, I have been supporting this team since day one,” the 33-year old said.
“It is a great honour to be part of, let me say this before I will draw the curtains down on my career I will wear the red jersey,” he added.
C. K Akonnor was overwhelmed to hear confess his love for the club.
”Asamoah Gyan comes with a lot of packages and what he has achieved in his career will cushion the young ones to also do more for the club. I will welcome Asamoah Gyan if he quits international football to join Asante Kotoko, even now,” C.K told the media.
Gyan was in Kumasi to conclude the sponsorship deal his company is signing with Kotoko. His company, Paradise Pack Mineral Water has signed a two-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors and will be renewed for three more years if both parties are satisfied with how things will go after the two years.
Should Gyan sign for Kotoko, he will be following in the footsteps of his brother, Baffour Gyan who also signed for the club during the latter part of his career.
