For the past few years, there has been an upsurge in the number of ‘men of God’ in the country. Some of these ‘men of God’ give themselves nicknames, insult gods, perform miracles and indulge in activities that raise the eyebrows.
A traditional priest, on Kessben FM’s Breaking News, indicated he has given gods to a lot of pastors with 47 of them in Kumasi.
The unidentified traditional priest said he give the gods to only people who want to be pastors or prophets. The price of the gods depends on the size of the church.
‘If the church is big, I sell the gods for GHC 10,000 and if it’s a small church I sell them for GHC 2,000’, he said.
The gods, when given to the Pastors, are hidden in the church and will take over the spiritual aspects of the church.
‘Although they can mention the name of Jesus in the church they will also have to mention Agbele, which is the name of the god, before and after the church service’.
Some of the pastors, according to him, are given different spirits to work with. Some are given snakes, goats, ducks, etc.
He also delineated that before the pastors go on radio to preach, they must give him money to pacify the gods so that they can be allowed to insult gods without any punishment from the gods.
‘The priests are given rings which they wear on specific days to help them see things in the spirit realm so that they can prophesy to their members but they can only perform the miracles with his help when they wear the rings’.
Also, he indicated they are given handkerchiefs which will help them perform more miracles. The handkerchiefs are to be sold to the members which will make the gods reveal things to the members through dreams.
‘When you buy the handkerchief, we will divide your money into 9 and we will take 1. Our dwarfs will bring us the money’, he said.
‘Anyone who the pastors touch while wearing the ring will fall down because of the power in it’.
‘Before they start another branch I will have to go and perform rituals there before they start’.
‘They can hold the bible and use it to preach but there is no power in it’.
‘When I pour libation, I mention the names of the pastors I work with’, he added.
