The CEO of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel “McDan’ McKorley has made a remarkable declaration of intent. He publicly revealed his ambition to acquire the English Premier League club, Nottingham Forest, during a recent Joy Thought Leadership seminar held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on October 9, 2023.
McKorley’s connection to Nottingham Forest runs deep, as he proudly expressed his unwavering support for the club, alongside his loyalty to the Ghana Premier League’s Great Olympics. He reminisced about his steadfast allegiance to Nottingham Forest, even during its challenging periods when the club was competing in the third division of English football.
In his own words, McDan stated, “The only team I support in the world apart from Oly [Great Olympics] is Nottingham Forest. I have been a supporter of Nottingham Forest when Nottingham was even in the third division. Why? Because I want to buy that team. I want to buy Nottingham Forest, imagine with all this development going on.”
McKorley didn’t merely express his desire to own the club; he also shared his visionary outlook for Nottingham Forest. He stressed his ambition to foster a significant presence of Ghanaian talent within the club’s roster. He envisions that his investment in the local football ecosystem will bear fruit, leading to more than half of Nottingham Forest’s players hailing from Ghana and competing at the highest level of English football.
In his forward-looking forecast, he stated, “McDan buys Nottingham Forest, and every time you see about 60% of the players [in the team] from the English league are from Ghana.”
