Charles Taylor, a renowned Ghana Premier League legend, has revealed that he has not retired from professional football and expressed his interest in playing for a club in Saudi Arabia.
Since his last stint with Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League in 2014, Charles Taylor has not been affiliated with any club. However, despite the significant gap in his playing career, he maintains that he is not yet prepared to retire.
In contrast to Asamoah Gyan, who recently announced his retirement from football, the 41-year-old Charles Taylor asserts that he is still active and ready to return to the game.
During an interview on Angel Sports, as reported by GhanaWeb, Charles Taylor stated, “Asamoah Gyan has retired, but the rest of us, like myself, we haven’t retired. If I have retired, I would have said it.”
Furthermore, he expressed confidence in his ability to play football at a competitive level, emphasizing his readiness to contribute on the field. He mentioned his preference for a move to a club in Saudi Arabia rather than playing in the Ghana Premier League.
“I still have what it takes to play for two hours. These days, we don’t play football with strength; we use the head. But I won’t play in the Ghana league. If I get a team in Saudi Arabia, I will join,” Charles Taylor affirmed to the host.
As a former player of both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, Charles Taylor boasts an impressive football career, having secured five Ghana Premier League titles, as well as the CAF Champions League and Super Cup.
