Flagbearer aspirant vying for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ticket, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has outlined a strategic goal to amass a formidable two million votes from the Ashanti Region, a move he believes will ensure the party’s continued dominance after the 2024 general elections.
Kyerematen asserts that his leadership is the key to achieving this ambitious target and urges party delegates to carefully consider and support his candidacy. Emphasizing the significance of securing a substantial vote bank, he underscores the necessity of the NPP garnering two million votes exclusively from the Ashanti Region in order to consolidate its electoral supremacy in the upcoming 2024 polls.
Speaking during a campaign stop in Bidieso, located in Obuasi within the Ashanti Region, Kyerematen highlights his conviction that his leadership is pivotal for the party’s sustained success. His assertion stems from the belief that his leadership capabilities uniquely position him to steer the NPP towards securing the crucial votes required to remain in power beyond the upcoming elections.
In a field of ten contenders, including Kyerematen, all vying for the coveted party flagbearer position scheduled for November 4, 2023, he earnestly appeals to delegates to resist any undue influences and to prioritize selecting a candidate who can genuinely contribute to securing victory in the 2024 general elections.
Kyerematen elaborates on his electoral appeal by drawing attention to his capacity to amass significant support not only in the Ashanti Region but also in the Volta Region. He highlights that his candidacy is particularly appealing in the Volta Region, where he believes his presence could effectively weaken the stronghold of the opposing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
