The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the NDC, Yaw Obimpeh this morning in an interview on Kessben FM said they (NDC) do not have anything to do with the group called the Hawks.
During last Saturday’s Unity Walk in Kumasi, a group of macho men caught the attention of everyone who saw them at the event. The Hawks, who according to initial reports gathered is the party’s vigilante group.
The former NDC Regional Youth Organizer for the party also indicated that, he saw the men at the event and even asked them who they are because one of them was seen getting closer to the former President.
According to him, they work with 500 men and also he know the boys they work so he was surprised to see those men who were 8 in number at the Unity Walk.
‘I was later told by one constituency youth organizer that they were with the Hawks’, he stated.
‘The Former President was not even happy with the presence of the group at the event’, he added.
He made it clear that as long as he is ‘the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, he will not accept the group to be part of the party.’
Mr. Obimpeh also said he warned the men not to attend any party event in the attire they wore to the walk if they want to attend party programs.
