The President has said he will not respond to presidential aspirants in the opposition NDC until one of the aspirants is elected as the party’s flagbearer.
The NDC’s presidential aspirants, including former president John Mahama, is among those constantly blaming the Nana Addo for the economic hardships in the country.
Albeit Nana Addo has said he will respond to the NDC presidential aspirants, he made the comment to indirectly tell his predecessor John Mahama that he will not respond to him until he is voted as his party’s presidential candidate.
“I’m sure you have seen and heard some of the presidential aspirants of the leading opposition party taking jabs at my government in order, ostensibly, to prop up their campaign.”
“And whilst at it, they are desperately trying to get me to respond to them.”
“Let me state here and now, for the records that President Akufo-Addo will not respond to presidential aspirants.”
“He will respond to presidential candidates that have been duly elected by their parties.”
“Then, he will engage those who still think Ghanaians have short memories”, the president said on Saturday at the University of Development, Tamale.
