Kwame Opoku’s move from Asante Kotoko to USM Algiers seem not to have hurt only the fans but the CEO of the club as well.
Nana Yaw Amponsah, the CEO of Asante Kotoko in his interview on Happy FM in Accra said he wish the club had been able to keep Kwame Opoku who at the time of living was the club’s leading top scorer with seven goals.
According to Nana Yaw, the club needed the money, therefore, it was going to be difficult for him to stay for the whole season.
However, his departure was not a bad thing as other players started scoring after he left.
Emmanuel Gyamfi, Fabio Gama, Ishmael Ganiyu and Augustine Okrah all found their scoring boots after Opoku’s departure.
Since he left Kotoko is yet to receive payment from Algiers for the transfer of the player.
