Christian Kwabena Andrews, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, the leader and founder of the Life Assembly Worship Centre, has made a noteworthy pledge to initiate legal proceedings against President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for alleged financial mismanagement should he assume the presidency.
Kyiri Abosom asserts that President Akufo-Addo is responsible for incurring financial losses for the state due to his decision to advance the construction of the National Cathedral.
During an interview on UTV, Kyiri Abosom, who is the founder of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), articulated that the construction of the cathedral has led to the destruction of numerous structures that were established with substantial state funds.
“If I were to become president in the future, I would take legal action against Akufo-Addo in connection to the cathedral. It is baffling that resources intended for constructing facilities such as judges’ residences have been utilized to build a cathedral,” he expressed in the Twi language.
Kyiri Abosom went on to emphasize that the financial implications of President Akufo-Addo’s decisions could have detrimental effects on the state, including potential collapse of churches across Ghana.
“We have derided God for an extended period, and as a result, churches in Ghana might face imminent collapse. There appears to be no tangible advantage emanating from the construction of this cathedral,” he elaborated.
Kyiri Abosom’s outspoken stance underscores his concerns regarding the allocation of resources towards the National Cathedral and its potential implications on both the nation’s finances and the religious landscape of Ghana.
