Atletico Bilbao star, Inaki Williams has announced his nationality switch from Spain to Ghana.
Born in Spain to Ghanaian parents, Williams has represented the land of his birth at the U-21 level and played for the senior national team in 2016 in a game against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Since then he has not been called to the national team making him eligible to represent the land of his ancestors.
He and his brother, Nico Williams travelled to Ghana to visit their grandparents after the 2021/2022 season and there were reports that they will be meeting officials of the Ghana Football Association to talk about their nationality switch.
Today, Williams in a video on his social media handle announced he is ready to defend the Ghana shirt because he is now “one of the Black Star.”
After his announcement, the Black Stars official Twitter account welcomed him home
