Nottingham Forest forward, Callum Hudson-Odoi, is still contemplating whether to change his nationality from England to Ghana. The former Chelsea player, who was born in London to Ghanaian parents, has not ruled out playing for either nation.
Hudson-Odoi acknowledged that playing for the Black Stars (Ghana’s national team) is an appealing option, but he has not made a final decision. He hopes that once he starts playing games at Nottingham Forest, the national teams of England and Ghana might express interest in his services.
The 22-year-old has represented England at various levels, including earning three senior caps, but he is still eligible to play for Ghana under FIFA’s rules.
Hudson-Odoi’s visit to Ghana in 2021 had sparked rumors of a potential switch to the Black Stars, but as of now, no decision has been made. Hudson-Odoi recently made a move from Chelsea to Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window.
Regarding his international future, he told the Telegraph, “That decision hasn’t been made yet. I’m still thinking it over. Ghana is a very good option but let’s wait and see… Hopefully, once I start playing games here, maybe Gareth [Southgate] or Ghana will come. It’s a nice position to be in, and hopefully, sooner or later we will know.”
