Inaki Williams’ 6-year La Liga record comes to an end

Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams’ remarkable La Liga streak has come to a close. The striker was omitted from the team’s lineup for their match against Celta Vigo on January 29, 2023 due to a muscle injury.

This ended his run of 251 consecutive games played in La Liga, which had been ongoing since 2016. The last time Inaki missed a League match was against Malaga in April of that year.

However, in 2022, an ankle injury threatened to end his streak early. After being hurt on August 29th, he recovered in time to play in the next match and extend his record to 237 consecutive games. Unfortunately, during a match against Espanyol, he was substituted after 71 minutes of play.

Despite this setback, Inaki’s streak of 251 games is a testament to his dedication and resilience in the sport of soccer.
