Minutes later, Kelvin DeBruyne scored from behind the 18-yard box to put his side 2 goals ahead.
In the second half, only DeBruyne, Hazard and Lukaku were left up front while the rest of the Belgian players were defending the post.
Gabriel Jesus was brought down in the 18-yard box by his club captain Kompany but the referee did not award a penalty.
Renato Augusto pulled a goal back by heading the ball into the net from Coutinho’s cross in the 77 minute.
Augusto later got a clear opportunity but he placed it wide.
Coutinho, whose long-range shots all got blocked also got a clear opportunity but also placed it wide.
Belgium will now face 1998 World Champions France in the semi-finals.
