The buildup to the Asante Kotoko vs Kariobangi Sharks of Kenya is getting interesting.
It all started when a fan of Accra Hearts of Oak sent a message to Kariobangi Sharks that he and his fellow Heats of Oak fans are willing to provide both ‘spiritual and physical’ support to the team so that they can eliminate their archrivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko from the CAF Confederation Cup next month.
Robert Maoga, the chairman for Sharks in an interview on Fox FM asked Accra Hearts of Oak for help. Maoga during the interview asked the fans of Accra Hearts of Oak to come and support to the stadium his team to beat Kotoko.
“We would like to tell the fans of Hearts of Oak to come and support us for victory [against Kotoko]”, Maoga said.
Sharks are confident they can shock Kotoko especially after scoring Arta Solar 6-1 in their first ever CAF Confederation Cup match on Wednesday.
Kotoko, on the other hand, is hoping to make a difference this year as the club has not been performing well in African club competitions for a long time.
