Kenyan arrested for kidnapping himself and demanding ransom from his friends

A Kenyan man has been arrested by the police for allegedly kidnapping himself and demanding ransom from his friends.

Wilson Maina went missing on September 3 and was later found with 40, 000 Kenyan Shilling (GH₵ 2,080) on him.

“We have been given 7 days to investigate because we felt that what he was telling us and the facts presented were not adding up. One of the SIM cards we found on him had KSh 40,000,” said Mwea West OCPD Stephen Wend.

Maina is in the grips of the police waiting to be arraigned before a court.
