Report from KNUST indicates its branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) and the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) are threatening to go on an indefinite strike tomorrow if the government does not change its stance on the formation of the University Council.
According to the government, the school must form a new council with no member from the previous council on the new board.
The school’s branch of TEWU and UTAG are not happy with the government’s comment as they believe the government should not intervene in the affairs of the school.
The school is expected to open on 8 November 2018 for studies to resume but should UTAG and TEWU go ahead and declare their indefinite strike tomorrow, KNUST students will have to stay home till the issue is resolved.
