Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito believes his team was heavily affected by mistakes made in its CAF Confederation Cup second round game.
Kotoko lost 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium to Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club in the first leg ahead of the second leg in the North African nation on Friday, October 24.
Goal keeper Mohammed Camara of Kotoko was dismissed from the game for handling the ball outside the penalty box in the 49th minute.
Two minutes prior, Joseph Bakasu scored the only goal of the game for Wydad by rifling the ball off a corner kick into the net.
Reflecting on the game at a presser, Karim Zito stated that mistakes from his players cost Kotoko the game but was adamant of a better performance from his team in the second leg,

“This is the game of football, sometimes certain things happen beyond your control. I think along the line there were some mistakes that affected us. Anything can happen when we go there and we are not going there as losers but we are going there… to play well and play better than what we did here” Karim Zito said.
