Kumasi Asante Kotoko has qualified to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after beating Cotton Sport 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to make it 5-3 on aggregate.
The Porcupine Warriors opened the scoring on the brink of half time as captain Amos Frimpong scored from the spot kick.
Kotoko was given the penalty after Sogne Yacouba was fouled in the 18-yard box.
Maxwell Baakoh made it two in the 53rd minute after he teased the Cotton Sport goalkeeper to get off his line before shooting into the far corner.
In the 86th minute, Oumarou Sali capitalized on a loosed marking to pull a goal back for his side.
The win after giving Kotoko the qualification to the group stage means has also ended an 11-year curse of not being able to make it to the group stages of CAF competitions.
The last time Kotoko made it to the group stage of a CAF competition was in 2008.
