Asante Kotoko Football Club has officially confirmed the departure of their exceptional midfielder, Richard Boadu, who has completed a move to Libyan side Al Ahly SC in a permanent transfer, pending the successful completion of medical tests.
Boadu’s football journey began with Asante Kotoko’s youth side, and in September 2021, he made a triumphant return to the club. His presence proved to be pivotal as he played a crucial role in their glorious victory in the Ghana Premier League during the 2021/2022 season.
During his time at Asante Kotoko, Boadu’s determination, dedication, and exceptional performances earned him the honor of being appointed club captain at the onset of the 2022–2023 season.
As he bids farewell to the club, Boadu leaves behind an impressive legacy, boasting the record for the highest number of tackles and most duels won within the team. Throughout his tenure, he contributed two crucial goals, provided five assists, and his exceptional displays garnered him a remarkable eight man-of-the-match awards in his final season with the Porcupine Warriors.
Before rejoining Asante Kotoko, Boadu showcased his talent and prowess with Medeama SC from 2018 to 2021, captivating the hearts of fans with his exceptional performances.
